TRENTON, Mo.-The Trenton Police Department is being formally investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol after the death of a subject in police custody. On the morning of Friday, February 26, Trenton police responded to a report of a man injuring himself and tearing up a home.
Trenton Police Department Chief Tommy Wright reportedly stated that the man, identified as JR Archuleta, stopped breathing shortly after being brought into police custody.
The man was transported to Wright Memorial Hospital by Grundy County Ambulance and was pronounced dead. Chief Wright requested the investigation, stating that all supporting documentation and evidence of the incident had been released to the Highway Patrol.
